Fat Freddy's Drop - Dr. Boondigga & the big BW

Fat Freddy’s Drop have just released their second album Dr. Boondigga & The Big BW and it’s stunning. Whatever you want to call it; soulful dub, reggae, electronic-jazz… it simply equates to a talented bunch of people making very listenable music.

Their last LP Based On A True Story sold by the bucket load when I was working back at Raouls (which sadly, is no more), but I never really got into it. This one though, is something else; Breakthrough at 8:49 could just keep on keeping on!

While they’ve played in Europe a bunch of times in the last few years and they are quite amazing live, you’ll have to be content with listening to this one on the headphones/speakers/ghetto blaster as they’ve cancelled their Euro ’09 tour.
